Honoring Those Who Excel at Transforming Lives Through Human Connection

Honoring Those Who Excel at Transforming Lives Through Human Connection

Our 16th Annual Awards Gala honored the Benchmark associates and communities that excelled in transforming lives through human connection in 2017.

The special event, held at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, provided a venue to celebrate the teamwork, dedication and commitment from special caregivers and associates.

“This is our opportunity as a team to show our appreciation for the hard work and great caring so many put in every day in their communities,” says Chairman and CEO Tom Grape, “especially our Compassionate Caregivers and Service Champions.”

At the start of Gala, resounding applause greeted the 2017 Service Champions from each Benchmark community and home office as they walked across the stage.

The evening also signaled the beginning of a transformative shift in our vision and mission, which will include a new logo, website, marketing material and expression of our brand. As Tom revealed, it’s not just about being a senior living company, but “becoming a human connection company.”

“By centering our company’s focus on the power of human connection to transform lives, we will be well on our way to achieving our vision, and leading the way toward creating a world where every person feels meaningfully connection to what matters most throughout their lives,” he says.

Tom added that “you,” our associates and caregivers, represent our brand through a special ability to make the world a better place for so many people. And that is the reason we hold a Gala ceremony every year.

“I always look forward to this night so I can learn from our special caregivers and associates, and thank them for the inspiration and lessons they’ve taught us,” he says.
