The Atrium at Drum Hill Earns 2016 Safety Star Award
The Atrium at Drum Hill in Chelmsford, Mass., has earned the distinguished 2016 Benchmark Safety Star Award. The community's impressive performance includes perfect scores for most metrics and a 57% reduction in associate injuries. Kristen St. Jean, Executive Director, shares her keys to this dramatic reduction:
- Focus on associate engagement and satisfaction.
- Ensure correct staffing levels and reducing overtime.
- Increase the involvement of department heads in daily operations and monitoring the community for hazardous conditions.
- Promptly address safety issues with the help of a highly responsive Regional team.
"The Atrium at Drum Hill continues to be one of Benchmark's finest communities," says Tom Masiello. "This is a cohesive, energetic and fun-loving team that's dedicated to Benchmark's mission."
According to Mike Perkins, "The safety of our communities is a key reason why families trust Benchmark. Building a culture of safety starts with recognizing and rewarding the actions of safety conscious associates."
Benchmark created the Safety Star Award three years ago to promote our culture of safety. The annual award goes to the community with exceptional performance in areas such as compliance training, safety meetings, fire and elopement drills, safety ticket participation, resident incidents and associate injuries. Capitol Ridge at Providence received the 2015 Safety Star Award.
Congratulations, Drum Hill team, for this important achievement!
