Yearlong Programming Designed to Elevate Human Connection
Every year the Benchmark Customer Engagement team designs a yearlong program for our communities. In 2016, residents explored the history and music of the most popular Broadway musicals. And in 2017, residents “traveled” cross-country exploring states with the “Benchmark Road Trip” program.
The Benchmark Honors program also links to “Helping Hands,” a monthly program for giving back to local communities. Under Benchmark Honors, Helping Hands focuses on projects honoring residents, like these:
March: Honoring our doctors and medical professionals by baking cookies or making care packages to deliver to a local hospital for nurses and doctors.
April: Honoring our artists and musicians by raising funds for a local charity through hosting a resident art show and knitting scarves or blankets to donate to a local shelter.
August: Honoring our teachers and educators by adopting a student or local school and making back-to-school backpacks and donating funds.
“Providing our residents with a sense of purpose is the most important part of our programming,” says Corporate Director of Resident Services Krystee Knapic. “Everyone wants a purpose in life, and the highlight of this year’s theme is celebrating our residents’ importance and purpose.”
